Abstract

Being renal biopsy the main diagnostic method of glomerulopathies, registration of data is an important tool to know the epidemiological and clinical and pathological situation of renal diseases of our country and the geographic variations between different locations and between countries.
Glomerulopathies Council (ANBA) and Glomerulopathies Workgroup (SAN) have carried out a Registry of Renal Biopsies since 1994 up to now, in order to know the situation of glomerulopathies in our country Up to now, we registered more than 2000 biopsies, out of them 1714 were informed by facilities or nephrologists from Buenos Aires and suburbs.
Lupus Nephritis was the more frequent diagnosis in the total cases and on the secondary causes.
Between primary glomerulopathies, the most frequent diagnosis was focal and segmental glomeruloesclerosis, and the second place, IgA glomerulopathy.
We analyze some aspects of this peculiar distribution, as well the frequency of other pathologies.
